On April 28, 2026, the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors proclaimed a local emergency in response to the growing threat posed by the invasive golden mussel in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta (Delta), urgently calling for strengthened State partnership, additional resources, and coordinated action to protect one of California’s most vital waterways.

Promontory Fire (Medline Fire)

On June 11, 2026 at approximately 1 p.m., a fire broke out at the Medline Industries. The warehouse is approximately 1,000,000 square feet, with nearly the entirety engulfed in flames. The fire is producing a significant amount of smoke and is being actively addressed by the fire department and San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Services (OES). This is still an active incident. Please avoid the area and find alternate routes.
